Scrambling as fast as I can in running away from the Lock Monster who is roaring, growling, gnashing trying to nip at my teensy, tiny butt!!

Time for a new thread! laugh

Wonka: Fellowship of the Ring

Linda,

I was wondering if she might like a copy of some of those old photos you found. Too painful?

Nope. It would be considered pursuing in the context of the OW most likely still in the picture. Will have to wait to see how things unfold and I'll act accordingly.

Bright,

Why not?! Go ahead and send H some jokey stuff. That is part of the re-building process...especially if the WAS is long-distance. If you got some jokey stuff from a friend, what would be your reaction? Smiles, laughs...that is a great thing, isn't it. Then they'll associate that with YOU.

Ruby,

It svcks being number 2, heh?! But it won't be for too long, right?

RT,

You can type the text and then find that picture to cut and paste on the second paper. Then you'll be all set! grin Good luck with that mini-project.

Thanks, Linda, for your positive confidence in me and DXW!! laugh

I do want to bring back a comment you made in my previous thread about letters here:

These letters have encouraged me to start a new project - clearing out all my old papers and junk so my kids won't have to do it some day. I was wondering about all of the note books I've filled writing to myself over the past years. Don't want to destroy them but also wouldn't want them to be read by the boys.

I sincerely hope yo will not destroy any of these letters or notebooks for they do offer a window into you as a person, not just 'Mom.' What I've appreciated about these letters is learning more about my father as a MAN rather that just Dad. There were even suicide notes when he was at his darkest hour. Obviously things got tough for Dad and he has written a total of 3 separate notes during different times with the first one in 1978--I know the year because he actually put a date on it-- [that was from being separated from my stepmother..she walked away after finding out about Dad's A], the second one was probably sometime around mid-1980s and the last one was sometime mid-2000s. I noticed a pattern in these letters...that was when the relationships ended with the various OWs.

In reading these letters [all of them from Mom, stepmother, Dad, GFs and OWs], I would comment out loud such as "Oh, Dad...you must have felt really, really down to write this", "Oh, Dad...what a doofus!" etc. I've always loved my Dad unconditionally and did not judge him for his actions/behaviors. It just made me appreciate all facets of Dad and my opinion did not change one iota.

I would hope you would leave a legacy for your sons through your letters, cards, and mementos. Such a treasure for us kids! laugh

Unless the mailman is the real Daddy to your sons...then....that's different grin grin

On the other hand, I've discovered things I really didn't need to know while helping one of my parents going through the others papers.

Wonka, this is such a fascinating information that you’ve discovered in these letters.

Thanks for the suggestion to send my H some jokes. I think I will wait a bit, he’s been behaving a little weird recently. Today he didn’t reply to my text about his mail that I sent to him 3 weeks ago and it came back as undeliverable.

hahaha, no mailman in my past Wonka! No response from DxW yet I guess? Probably not since you actually mailed them, right?

Betsey, if you read this -- I've been reading your old threads, the first page of each one anyway. I tried to post on your latest thread, but it seems to be locked. You have been thru so much. I thank the care-giver in you that enables you to remain with this forum, and to be so open. I have read many truisms that have helped me immensely, cried a little, learned a lot. You remind me a lot of Wonka.

smile Thanks so much!

Linda,

Just popped on after a busy morning and chowing down a little salad, before my 1 pm meeting. Thanks for letting me know about the lock monster.

And thanks for reminding me of some of the things I posted way back when. I'm glad if my old stuff is able to help you. That's why I was part of this community to begin with - it's self-propelled and has a way of healing the parts that just seem stuck. It's also why I came back (although very infrequently then) last summer.

I can't take credit for those snippets - I've heard them along the way. I still use #3 all the time.

I've been VERY blessed to have met some of my best friends here. I still keep in touch offline with many of them, and see a few face to face when I can. They are all very special, and hold a place in my heart for being healers when I needed it the most. I wish you the same experiences. It's how I originally cyber met Wonka... who definitely has Obi Wan with her these days.

Wonka, you sound really positive these days. It's really good to read your updates. No matter the outcome, you're gonna land on all 4.

Hugs-

Betsey

DXW responded to my Pete joke...she thought it was FUNNY! She hoped that I was staying cool.

My foot went a bit deeper in the pool instead of just having my big right toe dangling in the water. I responded:

Yeah, the Pete joke was hilarious and conveyed how I'd like for us to heal. You know....if you want to talk, you know where to find me.

Oh yea...super hot here too! Grrr...I guess its your turn to eat some cold ice cream. No sparklers this time around...ha

Have a great weekend, Ms. Wonka!

Wonka

No response from DXW. Eh, whatever. Getting right back to packing up the house.

You've put the ball in her court. Now let's see what she does with it.
