If your are serious, I found one program that works. Weight Watchers. You can do it on line. Its easy, you can eat normal food, and you can lose weight. The program teaches you what foods are healthy (as if we didn't already know), but in a way that makes sense with having a real life. It helps you create new habits, not a temporary diet.

Anyway, check it out.

I did ok yesterday. I didn't treadmill, but may do that today. I know I won't be doing the aerobics this morning. I sat down at the computer to catch up with my friends here, sneezed and pulled something in my back. I have a long history of back problems (bulging disc), and I will not aggravate when it's already feeling bad.

I think I'm 3 lbs down from Monday, it's hard to tell because I didn't write down my weight Monday and I'm still in denial about what I weigh now :).

The good thing is that I do feel SO much better when eating healthy foods. We travel this weekend for a softball tournament, so it will be a challenge. However since we will be travelling as the "happy" family I may lose my appetite.

I lost 1 pound yesterday....I did good. Had slimfast for breakfast and lunch.

carrots to snack on. grilled porkchop, rice and applesauce and a few sliced cucumbers.

No snacking afterwards! I did good for a change...lets see if I can keep it going today....so far, so good.

I slipped a bit yesterday, but didn't do too badly. BUT, I couldn't exercise. My back is hurting too much, and couldn't take the chance to make it worse. We'll see about today.

I too lost a few lbs after the initial bomb drop but am trying terribly hard not to revert to the old ways of stress eating. I turned to food and HSN/QVC and he turned to OW. A@@

Wow! This fits me to a T. I eat and shop when I'm stressed too.

I'm not a go-to-the-gym kind of person, so part of my plan is to set up a sort of dance studio in a spare room. I got a small t.v. and a stereo in there so I can dance and watch videos with the sound off at the same time.

My favorite videos for this are things like action or sci-fi movies where you don't have to rely on the dialog too much. Of course, almost any of my movies would work, I know the Godfather movies line by line. Well, who doesn't?

I actually lost about 60 lbs in 6 months one time by just dancing. And it was weird because I started exercising first, and then eating healthier came naturally later. I also drank a lot of water with lemon and iced tea, no sugar.

This thread is a great idea. Thanks to all. \:\)

I've reading about the efforts of all you ladies on this thread. You all seem to be doing really well.

The title of this thread caught my attention because since the bomb I have dropped 54 lbs., hired a personal trainer and nutritionist and generally find that working out and eating healthy are the best stress relief and distraction through this.

One book that I have read is called the Abs Diet by Mens Health. This is a great all round book for fitness and nutrition. It explains what to do, when and why. I know there is a Abs Diet for Women version. I would recommend it.

If I could make an observation about what I'm reading here.... Most of you are focusing on Cardio training as your excersise of choice. Don't discount weight training. Weight training can burn as many calories as Cardio and it has the added benifit of bulding muscle. What most people don't realize is that muscle is the best fat burner in your body. for every pound of muscle you put on, you will burn about 50 extra calories per day. Muscle increases your resting matabolism which means that if you put on 10 lbs. of muscle you will burn about 500 extra calories a day just by sitting doing nothing.

Keep up the good work!
