I was out here with your and Olive and MC way back in Jan/Feb 2007 - always wondered what happened with you! You sound so much better - life was so negative for you back then and at least you and the ex can parent together for the sake of your D!
Are you still doing any of your art stuff? Maybe you could meet someone at an art gallery or art class? Think of things you like to do - meeting someone wiht common interests at least starts off on a solid foundation! I agree with previous posts - just go out without any intentions - that's when you will meet someone!
I rarely post out here but I read each day - trying to find a newcomer I can help! I did make it through and am still with my husband - it was a long 18 mos. We are doing very well...

Hi Sol, good to hear from ya! I only have a minute but I was told by AT about a site called Meetup.com and it's groups of people that get together around specific interests. I checked out the site and there are tons of interesting groups you can take part in. All you need to do is sign up and confirm you want to check out certain groups in your specific city . There's everything under the sun! It may be worth a look.
Just go out with your friends and enjoy being single. You don't 'need' another woman but you obviously want one. As GM says, you'll meet someone when you meet somenone and going out just to have a good time is the best way IMO.
I cannot believe the single scene where I am. Seriously, I just go out with friends and enjoying myself and it's amazing how much attention you get for just being happy and having a good time. People see hapy people and think, wow, they look like they are having a great time and would be great fun.
You sound a little desperate (not meaning to be rude) to meet someone. Also I know you love spending time with you D, but if that is most nights a week, you would need to find someone very special and with an unusual schedule to fit in with that wouldn't you ?
Arthur: Yeah I agree that I may be a little desperate to meet someone, but at the same time I'm realistic, and I have lots going on just being without someone. I don't want to de-rail any new relationships I may have - I just desire to have a good one. I am back to learning what I was taught earlier - patience!
Whatisis: Long time no chat! Thanks for the site! I will look into that - possibly the best thing I can do in order to hook up with other people having the same interests I have! That's kinda a requirement for me nowadays to make friends or to date anyone. Can't have a good relationship if there isn't a foundation of similar interests right?
Heartbroken - it's good to see that you are doing much better as well. I like hearing about the ones that are able to work it out. I just couldn't handle all the drama that was going on here a year or so ago - I needed to detach completely and just get over my hump of my separation. Now things are much clearer - and I know with 110% certainty that my and the ex do NOT belong together! I did think about taking art classes again - preferable in the evenings. I also was thinking of getting my teaching credentials so I could teach as well - that would be interesting. Lots of options for me now. I guess I just need to go out and enjoy my free time with friends.

Oh no, that would explain the four women knocking on my door the other night! I thought when they called out "Oh baby, let us take you to heaven" that they were Jehovah Witnesses canvassing the building, so I turned out the lights and pretended to be alseep...damn it!
