I got your hint kat, I know I don't stop bye enough, I need to find more time to stay in touch, I have been reading post, but not posting anything, you seem to be doing well.

Like me you seem to have made it through Thanksgiving, now we just have to make it through Christmas. This will be my first as a single parent having to deal with the wishes of my ex as to who gets the kids and when, etc.

me, two boys and a 7 foot Douglas Fir
sounds like the title of a book, I can just see you guys driving through town, I get a funny picture in my head of the tree sticking out all sides of the car, branches out the windows, etc laugh

We havent had a real tree in quite some time, they are the best but I'm too cheap, I usually stick to the artificial tree we have, sometimes I'll buy a real wreath just to get that smell

I'll do a better job posting more, I have you and some others to thank for keeping me sane crazy

S14 got in trouble earlier this week. It is a good sign believe it or not because it means he trusts me that I am strong enough to deal with the situation. Anyway he had to choose a weekend without girlfriend or spend Friday night with his Dad. He chose the no girlfriend option though he tried to get me to cave on Friday.

He was really upset with me Friday night and again part of the day on Saturday. We were discussing why he was in trouble at lunch and I told him that as hard as it was for him to be in trouble, it was just as hard for me to punish him.(I know parents shouldn't tell that!) Anyway I think he kinda of got it and we got along fine the rest of the weekend. Hopefully he won't let his "mistake" happen again and it will all be good.

These weekends need to slow down because I am still exhausted. I am going to try to throw in one of my vacation days this week, maybe Friday. wink

I like real trees too. But it's also nice not to have to clean up after them too.

I can't believe it's already Christmas season. Didn't the summer just end?

We got this set of lights that are sort of like a net so no wrapping around the tree. It has the soft needles, so no scratched hands. The girls added on some of the ornaments last night. Now I just need a beautiful angel for the top!

Net lights for the tree? Wow! I have those for my bushes outside but hadn't seen one for the tree. That's pretty neat. My artificial one is a prelit so no lights to deal with. NICE!

I believe they are one and the same. They fit nicely on my 7 foot tree. It is beautiful and yes my fake one is prelit. I just needed a change this year. A gift to my soul.

Snow, snow, snow! We are supposed to get up to 14" by the time all is said and done. Yikes!! My boss suggested that I take today as a vacation day and I didn't argue. They haven't canceled school here in the city but I bet they will tomorrow and then I will be back at work. frown

But I am off to get the kids up and going.

You can't take off tomorrow b/c of the snow day-esp. if worse than today? Ok, that's one thing I don't miss--that sounds like too much snow!!! Hope you're having a fun day and get to relax this time!
