It's begining to look alot like Christmas!!!

Yesterday we bought the tree and the whole house smells lovely. Tonight we will decorate it and get the house ready for the big day.

Just a little update on my life....

D9 is finally on growth hormone treatment and is doing well. She finally hit 40 pounds which is huge, as she had been stuck at 38 pounds for almost 2 years. The meds make her very hungry so she eats alot and for some reason is now able to keep the weight on. I give her the shots daily, and am getting used to the new routine.

S23 graduated from College and is taking his LSAT tomorrow. He is so nervous. We are praying he does well, and will be able to attend Law School in the Fall.

D21 will be graduating in May and will be studying for her test to be able to get into dental school.

D12 and D14 and both cheerleading and love it. They are typical teenage girls with attitude, but are doing well in school and are not into the "boy" thing.......yet!

S15 is amazing. He broke the school record for Cross Country and is the youngest member on the Varsity team at his school. His coach is already talking athletic scholarships.

D11 had her art shown in a local exhibit at the Civic Center and is on the student body in her school.

S8, is still my joy and keeps me sane during those crazy moments of life.

On Monday I will finally be having surgery to fix the female "issues" I have been struggling with for so long, so I am excited to know there is an end in sight.

MIL still continues to try and manipulate long distance. We don't really talk, and I try to avoid her as best I can.

My Mother came to visit for a couple of weeks. I had not see her in over 5 years. The visit went well and she really enjoyed the children. In fact she had such a good time, she came back again and stayed for another 2 weeks.

My Sister also came to visit me. It had been 8 years since I last saw her. That too was a good experience.

The roofers are here working, and our roof should be completed by next week...YAY!!

I will be returning to school in January to finally complete my degree. I have had this dream on hold for almost 20 years. My Husband has been encouraging me to go back which is a huge switch as he never thought it necessary before.

And so we continue to plod along. Things are good at home. Still making decisions about which hill I want to die on and picking my battles wisely.

I think we are over the hump, the piecing part is so hard and so draining for the first couple of years. But then again so is a "normal" marriage, it takes time, and patience and good communication skills to succeed.

Please keep S23 in your prayers for tomorrow!!

((((hugs))))

BND, many congratulations on all your childrens acheivements. So pleased the treatment appears to be working.
I will say a prayer for S23.
All these triumphs reflect the mother behind, so bask in the glory!
How you keep up with them all I don't know. I continully get my kids mixed up and often put them with the wrong partners when talking about them. Even call the dog the wrong name at times-no hope for me.
You must be bursting with pride and I am so happy that peicing is now no different to the normal ups and downs of marriage.
Good for you on the college thing.
Wishing you and yours every blessing this festive season.

Just made some boracha.. Thought you might like to try...
( not my recipe.)

Creme de Vie (Cuban Egg Nog)
1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
6 egg yolks
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup rum

Mix the sugar and water until the sugar is dissolved over very low heat, stirring constantly - about 3 minutes . It has to be low so the sugar doesn't carmelize, but makes a thick sugary water. Put the egg yolks in a blender and mix with the condensed milk. Slowly add the evaporated milk and mix completely. Flavor with the vanilla. Add the sugar water and finally the rum

:-)

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year smile

Praying that everyone here will have the strength to look forward to the coming year with hope in their hearts, knowing that they are loved and valued regardless of what their Spouse is doing.
