This is what I have today. It's a good day for some reason.

1. I am grateful for H, who I did spend a great few years with.

2. I am grateful for the lessons he has taught me with regards to marriage. I hope to take them towards my future relationships.

3. I am grateful that my kids ARE resilient and will be ok.

4. I am grateful for my ex and his wife. They have come through for me in a time when the ones who should, couldn't.

5. I am grateful that my baby girl will grow up with two parents who love her, and sisters who love her, and a family she would have never thought possible.

I am grateful for the ones who have traveled this journey before me...

The ones who had the wisdom I needed to find myself again...

The ones who cared enough to share that wisdom with me...

The ones who are still here 19 months later ready to cheer me on or smack me back into reality...

That is what I am grateful for today. smile

I am grateful for my wonderful little boys. Their boundless enthusiasm wakes daddy out of his funks.

For my mom. I thought I had a good idea how smart and wise she is. I was wrong. She's been my rock through this.

For free gym memberships.

For the people here who take time out of their day to swing 2x4's, offer comfort and wisdom, and share their experiences.

For Henry Wienharts Orange Cream Soda in glass bottles.

I am grateful for :

Living to see another day. (A colleague was just diagnosed with
cancer. Sometimes we get so caught up in our M issues that we
fail to remember how frail life is. It is an ABSOLUTE GIFT to
wake up each day.)

Helping others. It helps me take my mind off myself and to realize how GOOD I have it!

Relaxing in the bath with my favorite bath gel after a hard workout at the gym.

The slice of carrot cake I had today. Yummy. (Sometimes I remember the immediate post-bomb days when I never thought I would eat again. I have to laugh and thank God that I have come so far :))

I am grateful for:

my little girl who provides so much fun and love
my mum, who has put up with me through all of this & understands everything
for Milo chocolate drink
the blossums which are coming out on the trees and smelling sweet
for the plane ride we are taking tomorrow to spend time with family in another city
for telecommunications meaning I can stay in contact with friends and loved ones abroad
for living in a peaceful country, city, town, street, house.
for the wisdom and kindness of others
for all the people who stop me in the street to compliment me on my beautiful daughter and share their experiences of motherhood with me.
for the opportunity to 'find' me again and grow stronger and wiser.

First and foremost,
My daily waking thought/prayer:

"Today is September 18, 2010.
There was never any assurance - let alone guarantee - that I would see this day.
Yet here it is.
And I am here.
And I am deeply grateful."

With fruit, with weeds even; but gather them
In the one garden you may call your own."

Grateful for my two daughters, who despite me not always being in the best of moods, continue to give me so much love and affection.

Grateful for my friends who have supported me more than I ever expected during the last three months; I've learned so much from them.

Grateful for the Bomb; sleepwalking through life, fatherhood and relationships is no way to live.

Grateful for my wife; without her I wouldn't have my daughters. For making me smile, laugh, and cry. For her elephantine memory.

Grateful for my faith; I know that I can overcome any obstacle set before me, surpass every trial but death.

Grateful for orange juice, fresh strawberries, kittens, sunrise over a cornfield, air-conditioning, king-size beds, good books, movies that take you away from the world, kids losing their baby teeth, holding my daughter's hands.

Grateful for my family. They are awesome.
Greateful for my job, insurance, shelter.
Grateful for good friends, little things that make me laugh, hearing a song a like on the radio.
Grateful to any and all of you who have helped me through my sitch. I know we don't know eachother but there have been times where I have been so darn low and I will come on here to read your kind words of advice or I will feel like I am about to cry and read something hilarious and it brightens up my day.
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. smile
