I am curious as to how the mind of a mod works. Is it not part of a mods duty to help the users out in answering questions and concerns related to a website? This is now the fourth post I have created specifically asking what part of the TOS and board policies I have broken to justify being edited and having posts deleted. It has become my feeling that I have been singled out in many cases by you. I have posted similar responses on peoples questions, only to have my post be edited and the other persons post similar to mine be left untouched. I have seen users and posts unilaterally wiped from this website with no explanation. What is the reason for this? Is a forum not typically set up for users to help each other?

"I am curious as to how the mind of a mod works."

On DB.com.. mods have free reign. They are not paid. They are given a focus. Well.. that is my take on it anyway. They will edit.. or delete.. what you post. My thought on it is that when you get edited.. or deleted.. you question what you are posting. Editing.. or deleting.. is a pretty good sign.. they don't like it. I don't know that they really owe you an explanation.

"Is it not part of a mods duty to help the users out in answering questions and concerns related to a website?"

Well.. kinda. The rule of thumb as I understand it is that if something "bad" happens.. you send a email to Virginia. She is a Busy Person. You can call into the office also.. the number is listed. I won't presume to know whether she will respond or not. DB mods are here mainly to ensure "safety". Virginia is the "End All".

"This is now the fourth post I have created specifically asking what part of the TOS and board policies I have broken to justify being edited and having posts deleted."

So.. the 3rd one.. did not help you understand that you should maybe rethink things a bit? Trust me.. after my 1st delete.. or edit.. I am going to be thinking about what I said.

"It has become my feeling that I have been singled out in many cases by you."

Well.. if you keep doing the same thing.. over and over.. and you keep getting the same result.. I am going to assume YOU are to blame.

"Is a forum not typically set up for users to help each other?"

Sure. But if you keep getting edited.. and deleted.. what is motivating you to post?

To me it is that you want to be right. Your way works.

To be more clear it is an emotional response.

Your help will be "better" than what they might receive.

My suggestion would be to become more creative.

I am NOT a mod.. nor do I ever hope to be.

I am just someone who questions your motives some. And believes in the words that can be written "here".

It really becomes your choice on if you are stuck in a cycle or not.

I know that most likely I will not get a response. I have more than come to accept that. But I do feel that I have valid questions that should at some point deserve an answer. And in saying so, I have multiple others state that they have seen some of the deleted posts, and agree that there was no reason to be deleted. I just feel that some of the omnipotent power at times has gotten out of control, and to be honest, until I can get some justification to the treatment I received, I see no point in even attempting to help out here. I enjoyed helping people, as many did for me in my time of need, but if my work is just going to be shredded by someone else as they feel fit, why bother?

Just to verify to you Forrest, I replied to your post, but mysteriously, it is gone.

I don't disagree with you finding an answer. What exactly have you done to deserve one though? Just because you showed up.. made a name and posted.. does not entitle you.

"And in saying so, I have multiple others state that they have seen some of the deleted posts, and agree that there was no reason to be deleted."

But the flip side of that is.. I have seen posts that needed to be deleted.. and yet were allowed to go on. And let me tell you there were TONS more people saying "WTF" than there are now.

"I just feel that some of the omnipotent power at times has gotten out of control, and to be honest, until I can get some justification to the treatment I received, I see no point in even attempting to help out here."

Then don't. Or.. become more creative in your ways. I am sure your "Answer Me!!" posts will win them over some day.

"I enjoyed helping people, as many did for me in my time of need, but if my work is just going to be shredded by someone else as they feel fit, why bother?"

How many LBS have said the exact same thing?

How many of those people that said just that.. were truly LB?

"Just to verify to you Forrest, I replied to your post, but mysteriously, it is gone."

I still see something you posted. I don't show the post as edited.

If I missed something could a mod help me out?

I promise I won't create Drama.

Or ShockedOne.. you could be creative.
