Don't let him bate you. He is trying to justify his reasons for picking the ow by getting you to argue with him. Don't give him the satisfaction.

Any advice on the dogs? Should I just continue to take care of "his" dog and not say anything else to him about it and just take them both when I leave on the 7th?

I probably should call my atty tomorrow and see what he says. If I am the one taking care of the dog then he should be mine. He shouldn't just get to neglect his responsbility and expect me to do it for him.
