Received a call from w today, out of the blue at work. I was caught off guard and did not have time to prepare myself. She was calling to tell me that a rather sizable check had been forwarded to her by one of the companies we had been invested in over the years.

I have periodically been liquidating investments that we have as part of our agreement to divide up assets.

She wanted to know what I wanted to do with it. I aksed her to deposit it in her account and send me a check for half. She said fine.

That was that. No fuss, nice and clean cut. Kept the conversation friendly and congenial. I was the one to end it. Followed DBING principles to the T.

Just journaling, thanks all

Gunny I know nothing about liquidating anything but have fun and spend it wisely. Time for a vacation I say Bermuda. I hope you have a good night sleep buddy. This shall too pass

Nice job Gunny! Must have been a bit of a shock to hear from your W. But the news was not bad news, so chalk it up to a good DB example!

thanks rick, 2, jb, etc for your kind words.
Just following your alls examples of DBING.

Had yesterday off, unstructured days always present their own little challenges. Went to the gym, got a good 4 mile run in and some lifting. Then stopped at a nice little coffee shop in the small town near me and sat and read some posts and a book for a couple of hours. Then one of the women from my divorce support group met me their for lunch. After that, went shopping for some new sweaters and then went down to my SIL (bros wife) to talk and drop her off to get her car out of the mechanics.

She told me that my w had called her the day before to chat. I'm pretty sure that she was just checking in to see how my two nephews are doing, she is godmother to the youngest one.

As of yesterday they were still playing phone tag, but they will eventually connect.

When I spoke with my w on Tuesday, in the surprise call, she sounded a little frustrated that she has not been able to find a job yet. She was an administrative aid for 20 years, and has excellent skills. I am surprised she has not found anything yet, and I sense she is also. Oh well, things are tough out there, I hear about it everyday here at my job.

Hope everyone out there is doing well, look forward to hearing from you!

Gunny, it sounds like you did a great job of meeting the challenge of an unstructured day! You're living large! You crushed it! Way to go, man!
