Jo-El Sonnier has two hits that always got to me, now just Really get to me. Tear Stained Letter and Come On Joe.

Rodney Crowell also really gets me singing along. His If Looks Could Kill is the classic divorce song. And then, because I always try to find music that leaves me laughing, not crying, I play Rodney's You Can't Stop a Woman When She's Out of Comtrol.

Guarenteed to make me smile.

This thread is also making me smile!

Thanks!

Speaking of Rodney Crowell, his XW, Rosanne Cash has a great song, I'll Change For You

Am I the only one thinking we should WRITE a song?

Let's get a few good one liners and make them rhyme...then we'll make millions and friggin' coast the rest of our lives...

or at least we'll feel a tiny bit of artistic satisfaction...for um...well I mean,

"fully expressing the range of the human condition" and all that....

cool

Great list, Aeo! Your selections reminded me of two songs.

Gnarls Barkley -- "A Little Better" (somewhat reminiscent in "A Little Bit Stronger" in sentiment)

Massive Attack -- "Live With Me" (one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard. If anybody chooses to watch the music video, pick the one where the woman almost drinks herself to death.)
