Ok - so I seem to have reached my limit on the previous thread, so I'm starting a new one here smile

Today I officially feel like I am a woman that only a fool would leave.

I had a marvellous day (for the most part). It was my BDay - so I got all these morning calls from my friends wishing me a Happy Birthday. I made arrangements with a couple for some meet ups next week.

I got an incredible amount of compliments today...and from some unexpected quarters.

The best of all was from my friend - and literally he is just a friend, but granted I am a bit confused about that.

Anyway, so we are chatting (he is the first to call in the morning), and we are chatting away about our various things. Then, I say - It's my birthday etc., and then he was like, "OMG! Why didn't you say anything?"

He didn't realise it was my birthday. I didn't tell anyone.

I tell him three times I need to get a move on as I have an appointment, but he won't get off the phone. He finds something to say each time, and then the final time was this most amazing compliment:

He said, "Well, I have to tell you, since the beginning of the year, you have had a glint in your eye, and you have transformed. I can see it - it is very visible, yes. And, you are beautiful and really nice, and I can see that good things will be coming your way."

I was floored, and said, "Thank you for your nice words!"

He said, "I'm not being nice. This is the truth, I speak what I see, and it's true."

LORDY LORDY LORDY!!

My H texts me like 2 hours later, saying that he sent some flowers and wondered if I received them. I hadn't, but when I got home I was looking forward to them. So I got home, and there weren't any flowers. He texted back saying that he let the courier have it and they will now be arriving tomorrow. I said a good thank you and good night.

I know it wasn't his fault, but my God, what a disappointment!

Still, I had a beautiful day. Even my cats brought in a dead mouse and laid it at my feet this morning - AHHH!

Not so hot today. I FINALLY received the flowers, and - geeze - what a further let down. It's better not to send anything in my opinion.

Anyway, I know he was fighting with the courier all day and they made the wrong delivery and whatever in the day. So, he has made an effort of sorts.

Still, they are SAD flowers, and I'd really prefer to have just gotten a nice phone call.

I called him and told him they made me cry (which they did!). He apologized, and said that he will send some others. I was like, "Please don't!"

He started going on then about feeling just generally disappointed and that his life right now is one long series of disappointments and feeling let down and things not working, and this is just the 5th thing in the last few days that has gone totally wrong, and nothing is working no matter how hard he is trying right now, and that he will do some soul searching this weekend.

All I can say is that I'm glad I'm not involved with any of that drama!!

MLC or what?!

Here is a little 2x4. It is very judgmental for you to criticize the flowers he sent. He sent flowers appreciate that. That is a lot more then many men going through a MLC can do. Right now your preference for a phone call is not going to get you anywhere. You need to validate what he does and validate his feelings.

Your reaction is not DBing
