... and the rest of my new life begins!

It has been a while since I have posted. I saw that my last thread was locked... At the time I was really busy and just never got back to it.

I am now officially divorced. This not as awful as it might seem. While I was not able to save my marriage, I was able to save myself. I am becoming the man that I long sought to be. My tool box is much better equipped to handle anything that life throws my way than I have been in a very very long time.

My wife and I went through mediation as part of the process. Our mediator thanked me for acting with a lot of class in what typically can be a volatile time. I handled the situation with the same class, honor, and dignity I have handled my divorce with.

I spent some time reading through my progression through this journey. Life, like success, is a journey and not a destination. I believe that we will always be evolving and improving ourselves. I catch myself falling back sometimes and am able to stop that slide before it gains any momentum.

This process works. It really does. All you have to do is give it the opportunity it needs. While I am no longer married, I can say that I am happier than I have been for a very long time.

MrCAS, thanks for all your contributions to the board, and for letting me adopt your mantra. You've been inspirational. I'm sorry your DB efforts didn't result in saving the M, but they did save you. Keep up the good work!

Seems like this involves an inside comment but man what a great song reference......

MrCAS, haven't followed your situation but from the comments on this thread sounds like you are in a good place and have done much of the work expected from DB.

As others have said, it may not have saved the M but if it saved you even better. Congratulations!
