Now obviously this is a fun picnic, right. I mean you might be playing guitar or something, right. Or tossing a ball, but hopefully not frisbee by yourself. Unless it's like frisbee golf. Or maybe you've got your cute little border collie/aussie mix who can catch the darn frisbee mid air.

There are no bees or madrigal singers. Or mimes. If you're into that sort of thing, it may be just TMI (Minnesotaman).

Now if PPM show up (Peter Paul and Mary for those of you for whom I have to explain that to)....plus...it's kismet.

None of this Rapunzel nonsense.

My Picnic analogy

I have a fine and dandy picnic outside the castle. W can see it but she chooses to ignore it. She has peeked a couple of times but refuses to believe what she sees, a new picnic with fresh ware. She still believes it's old with left overs from the last picnic.

W best friend now passes by between the picnic and the castle. She was the one who use to encourage the storming the castle, she even provided a catapult and grappling ropes. "If I can get W to lower the draw bridge you can charge right in". This only resulted in W building walls of thicker stones.

Best friend disappears into the castle, then reappears and starts to check the picnic. Hmmm, things appear to be fresh, but even I can't be sure. Best friend disappears into the castle again, before reappearing and setting off into the distance.

W is still left wondering is this a fresh picnic or is it the old.

There seems to be a bunch of newcomers around and I thought that you all might like this analogy...

This is perfect and I needed it today.

I'm not sure about the construction on my W's castle. I'm a bit afraid it might collapse on her, but that may be for the best. I'll be there if needed, but there is not way I'm going in.

Given I've got 45 inches of snow in the yard, I'm struggling with the picnic analogy, but I'll give it a go.

Thanks, picnic analogy really helps.

However my WAW, sees my changes and believes that "I am happier without her" joining the picnic.

jmw,

My W thought the same thing at one point. I had to explain to her that I was the only one that could make me happy. I can't let my happiness depend on others. So, yes I am happy now, but not because you aren't with me. I still care for you and want you in my life to share in this happiness. She seemed to understand... You can't really have this conversation though unless your W brings it up first.

Peace,
B

My W said that my changes "gave her the strength to move forward with the divorce" since she knew I'd be okay and would find someone else.

Like I said, I'm concerned about how that castle is built

Thanks bhopeful good insight, perhaps my WAW will lower the draw bridge and bring it up, again. At least she is noticing/looking from the castle walls.
