I use poles, but they're the walking kind. Half an hour most mornings (slept in today) and trying to eat less chocolate (it's so hard, though!).

Since I started doing this last spring, I've gone from wearing size 14/16 pants to the ones I'm now wearing - size 10! I still have a ways to go with the roll around my middle and think at this point in my life I will always look better with clothes on (lift those boobs, cover that cellulite!) but I feel so much better now than I did.

This thread is a great idea, di - a place to focus on positive things we're doing for ourselves. I will try to restrict all whining to my own thread. Thanks for starting it.

Hi Di:

I've lost probably 40 pounds total...the last 25 due to stress, however, I'm back in a size 9 juniors (haven't been there since H.S.) I've been trying to eat really healthy! Lots of salads, grilled fish or chicken...almost no red meat! Lots of fruit too! I drink an Ensure every morning for breakfast. The chocolate ones aren't too bad if they are really cold and they are small so 5 or 6 swallows and they are gone! They really fill me up!

I love to walk...up to 5 miles a day when the weather permits! I also do pilates, sit-ups and lift some light weights occasionally. When I don't feel like exercising, I'll run up and down my stairs a bunch of times (there are about 15 steps from the main level to the upper level???)

Now that I'm down to my normal size, I have alot more energy and desire to stay that way...so my motivation is really high.

I'm thinking of signing up for a self defense class...that would be good exercise! And, H and I have been taking country dancing lessons, which is fun and a decent workout as well!

This is a great idea! Let's keep it going....I'll leave the oreos behind!

What's the dues to join here? or just the fact that we're here is dues enough?

I lost 50 pounds after the bomb, it's gradually crept back into my skin almost entirely. I should lose that again plus some more. I still don't feel like a fat blob because I am tall and active, but when I see a picture of myself - eewwwww!!

I did the diet kissak posted and lost 7 pounds and it wasn't that hard and even felt good! All you ladies talk about single digit sizes, I've never been that little!

Yes! and what's really great is that after the 3 day portion was over I kept it off. Now I have to be rigid enough to do it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again and that = 49 pounds!

Palgal - I tried the same diet but wasn't able to do it that long. I've tried almost everything known to man and I still need to lose 70 lbs. (would be happy with 50 lbs). The only thing single digits on me is my ring size LOL.

We need to make taking care of ourselves a GAL goal. Now that I might not have my H, I sure don't want my S's to have to take care of me if I have a stroke like my Mom did (she was 53 - 11 yr older than I am now).

Since the bomb I have lost a few lbs and last night at S15's sports banquet some friends that hadn't seen me in a couple of months said I looked great! My hair was up, pretty dangle earrings and had on black outfit. Isn't it great how even though black is depressing it's at least slimming!!

I think we've all PAID our dues by being here!!!

I think I've tried everything out there. I've yo yo'd and roller coastered as long as I can remember.

I'm tall (5'6")and now at my highest non-pregnant weight. My goal is to lose 30-35 lbs.

My best success was the Body for Life program. It's exercise and 5 small meals a day----extremely easy to follow. The exercise program involved running, which I can't do anymore (bulging disc), but I can walk and will be walking, lifting weights and hopefully able to follow the diet plan.

I'm going to do my best to cut out the wheat products. I actually like the rice cakes and soy chips............

I've done pretty good today---except for the 5 hershey's kisses..........but they're almost gone.
