I had a very good friend, a gay man (of blessed memory) with whom I used to discuss our tendency to attract what he called "wounded birds." He said one time he went into a bar (it was pretty crowded and people were kind of jammed in there) and saw a cute guy and went over to him and they started talking. My friend really felt attracted to him. Then the guy turned around and HE HAD ONLY ONE ARM! That was the epitome of the Wounded Bird. Geez.

Yeah. You have to watch it.... remember how you'd ask me all the time about my tendency to care too much?

As for bad behavior... I am responsible for my bad behavior. No one else is. It helps when you have friends, sometimes, who are willing to shove your face in it, if need be, because they care for you... even if it hurts you. Sometimes we get lost so deep in our own self-pity we have no awareness of our bad behavior. How often do we see it in SSMs afterall?

I don't think your xbf has a clue. Not saying you haven't tried to tell him... but sometimes it takes shoving someone's face in it, kwis? And from personal experience... \:\) ... you are entirely capable of shoving faces in it, when you need to. \:\) I say that kindly and with personal thanks... so don't be hurt... k?

I don't think that women in general are in the habit of kicking puppies.

They do sometimes step on them or trip over them, though. Puppies are low to the ground and hard to see if you're caught up in thinking about something else. A puppy is better off curled up somewhere other than the floor.

a fine and enviable madness, this delusion that all questions have answers, and nothing is beyond the reach of a strong left arm.
