ok can someone help me figure this one out?

stbex asks me to check on the house while he is away in fla. I agree, says he stopped everything but did not days worth of papers but anyway my point.

I go today check everything as i am leaning I look into the box he has put out for my stuff like mail and other things. Yes I have been downgraded to a box in the house that I own, I find a card from him and a check folded in a note.

I read the note it says i wanted to get you a gift card to bath and body works but did not have the time so here is a check for you merry. Its for $50. WHy would he do that? I had no plan to get him anything. WTF????

Then the card is ugh, with a note inside I know its hard for you but you still deserve to know you should have a merry christmas kinda crap line in it. again WTF????

What is with this, is this guilt, what is it.

Now my question is do I give the check back? I really don't want it. Part of me says keep it and cash it, part of me says give it back itmeans nothing.

I have a starbucks gift card I can give him, do I want to and should I??

I don't know what to do.
