I did have an awesome time. No new phone numbers unfortuately but there is plenty of time for that. I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen for a while and so it was nice to catch up with them. Best of all I got to have a really good boogie and I so love to dance. My feet were prrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttyyy sore by the time the ball ended but to me that's a sign of good night out

I'm really tired today as we didn't go to bed until 3am as fellow DBer and I sat up talking. She found it quite entriguing to have gone to one of these events. The group I belong to is not a dating agency but last night there were certainly some people who thought it was. At times it was a bit like being at a school disco but it was a laugh to see grown adults make fools of themselves in that way. Thankfully they were in the minority. Like me she likes to people watch and so we had a giggle.

Hi ACJ,
I am glad you "had a ball" hehe! Your social group sounds really super. I wish I could find something like it in my area. Like you I love dancing and going to balls.

Have a good week.

Just when you think your life is getting back on track something else happens to knock you for six.

My mum phoned this evening. She was phoning to tell me that my brother has been feeling unwell and has been to see his doctor. They think he might have anklyosing spondilytis, which is a form of arthritis that affects the spine.

In the next breath she then told me that she had been bleeding from one of her nipples. In the past she has had a clear discharge for which she has had treatment and which was not life threatening. This sounds more serious, although her doctor couldn't find a lump, and she has been referred for tests.

I phoned the mortgage company today to see how my new mortgage application was progressing. they told me they were waiting on my employer for confirmation of my earnings. So I phoned the HR dept. They have received nothing (or so they say) so it doesn't look like H is going to get his money any time soon. I'm cross myself b/c I went to a lot of trouble to make sure that his deadline would be met. Nothing is signed on that score so I'm not worried just irritated.

Test, test, test is all my life seems to have been about for the last 3 yrs. I want a longer period of 'you've passed, well done!'

I am sorry about your brother and mother. When it rains it pours. It will all even out and get better. I can remember thinking that things will never get stable again --- they do.
Keep your chin up,

Thank you for all your prayers it is really appreciated. I haven't spoken to either my mum or brother since but I will need to phone the latter today as it is his wife's birthday today. I'm a bit calmer now I've done some research but until they both have thier test results it is an unknown entity.

One thing I will say is that when H and I were together I would have worried myself to death about this and there would have been a lot of tears. He always used to tell me that I shouldn't worry about something until it has happened. There have been no tears (yet) and this news has not been my sole focus. So I guess I learned at long last to do what he always suggested. However, I'm not sure whether that I should be glad about this or worry because I have become hard!!!!!!!!

I spoke to my brother and his blood tests came back negative so that is one piece of good news. He still has to have an x ray to ascertain what is wrong with his back but hopefully that will show a different (and better) diagnosis/prognosis.
