Hi Lodo -

I did not get a card back with a yes or no check mark.

I gave her carnations (she does not like roses) and a picture card

Just the two of us spent the afternoon and evening (no fooling around) and had a pleasant time together. She is interested in going on vacation with the kids and I this summer.

We (GF and her D4) attended my uncle and aunts 50th wedding anniversary tonight. It was a very nice occasion.

I loved the pic Kerry!!!

So, you would say things are going ok for you guys? I read some "down"time in your posts. I dont know if the expression is right. But you sound calm and a bit "reserved"?

So Kerry..are the red flags still popping up?? making vacation plans with GF this summer makes me think that the flags were not much or that you have decided to just let it go...

I had let GF know about the red flags and she understands. But overall she is a really great gal. We are taking it slow and are in no hurry.

GF told me that one of her sister-in-laws thought that maybe we would only work out as BF/GF because she had noticed that I am so attentive with my kids and maybe I would not do the same with GF's D4.

Talking with my cousin last night, who is good friends with GF's uncle, he seemed to feel that GF's mother is going to be a hurdle as she is "old school" Vietnamese with a lot of proper formalities and etiquite.

so Kerry..I have a few questions...so do you find that it is easier to talk with GF now...versus talking with ex-W when you were married??

The reason I ask is this..I was a classic withdrawer when I was married to Kim..now I find I want/need/have to talk everything out with VST41 no matter what is on my mind...a big 180 for me..

Mike, talking with GF sure does seem a lot easier than X, but I mostly attribute that to her ability. We still seem to communicate deeper things by texting or letters, but I would like to get to the point where talking everything out is easy. GF has even mentioned a few times that we get into much more detailed conversations by textings than in person.

My X was a very poor communicator and I think she expected me to read her mind. And there were times that she would make the lame excuse that english was not her native language and she could not tell me what was really on her mind.

I see...VST41 likes to talk..she hates texting and so do I..she hates VM..she would rather talk in person or talk on the phone..it's cool by me..

S8 was one of the top 4 finishers in his class spelling bee and today he competed in the all school spelling bee. When I got there, X was there with Ed and I sat next to them with the video camera. S8 made it to the final 4 and missed spelling "palominos". When he asked for a definition, he was told it was a type of dove - I had thought they were a type of horse. His best girl friend had missed spelling "moccasin" right before him.

I am still trying to get X to get me her new account numbers so as to get the first 2 of my SEP IRA's transferred. The plan was to do the 3rd one last so as to meet the exact amount set forth in the divorce judgement, however, all 3 funds have dropped so much that I doubt they will meet that amount. If I have to go into the 401K, that will be costly (QRDO). I have suggested to X if she would be willing for me to pay the difference in cash, but as usual, she says she needs to ask many people for opinions.

She also is overwhelmed to do her own taxes. I told her to go to the post office or library and ask for a 1040EZ form and the equivalent state form as it is so simple for her to fill out.

Kerry,

Greeting from a former County Spelling Bee champion! I won my contest with ptarmigan, a bird....

Palominos are horses, but I know in Spanish, dove is "paloma", so who knows? Maybe it was a bilingual spelling contest? ;\)

Happy Friday, and fun plans?

BobbiJo -

Your were a Cheerleader and a Spelling Bee champ - and now you are working your way at becoming a world class marathon runner!

Pinewood derby is this weekend.
