Sounds like fun! Good luck with the derby. I don't suppose you get to wear suits and big hats at that kind of derby, although you could start a trend! ;\)

Kerry,

Love the car! Won't win the race w/all that wind drag, but who cares? It is cool!

Hey as far as your cost thing goes, my XW and I have a verbal agreement to split costs, but we all know how strong those are. So what I do is get our conversations on text or e-mail for backing and simply beat her to the punch. If she says "D wants to do X and it costs $50..." I'll pipe right in and say, "so when should I give you the $25 check to cover my 1/2?"

You may look at some of the same w/your XW when something comes up. If something is $600, just say "I'll put in my 1/2 next week. You'll need to let them know when you are picking up the other half" or whatever and leave it at that.

I agree w/Gypsy that this is the one where you'll need to use your intellect and get the upper hand in whatever way is most comfortable for you in your relationship w/XW.

I'm glad to hear you are doing well and the gym thing sounds sweet! I'm looking for a new gym for myself as well as I've been off the wagon w/DC, the move, and the "settling in period" of unpacking, sorting and putting away.

hey kerry,

I think you need to start prepping the boy for automotive design - I bet GM would sell a lot more cars if they came with a bunch of pirates.

Good one Lodo! Loot and pillage, pillage and loot. What is it with kids and pirates? I mean in reality, pirates are the lowest murdering kidnapping scum of the earth, but Disney seems to make them seem rather likeable.

Tough day for me today with D6 who was in some terrible mood. I made her go to bed early tonight after what appeared to be a pirate battle between father and daughter. X and I are both concerned with her behavior lately, although she is an angel at school.

GF was sick so she did not come over and I wonder if D6 would have been more mature with GF's D4 around.

Hey Kerry,

D8 also was acting up a little yesterday. Maybe Ali has something in the stars to explain some of this.

Nice Car....went through a few of your other pics. You are a great dad, I could see it in their eyes....your kids are very lucky.

Hi John,

That is pretty weird about both our daughters acting up. It must be in the stars. My D6 has her birthday on Aug 1.

S8's car did ok in his pinewood derby heats (3rd, 1st, 2nd) yesterday and he won the funniest car award as voted by the other scouts. I dont see what is so funny about pirates!

We went out for buffet dinner last night with G40 and several of her brothers/wives - fun time.
