Kerry-
Heard on the radio this morning that Portland was chosen "saddest city in the US"--how did they come up with that? They factored in cloudy/rainy days, crime rate, etc etc
BUT
I have always heard it is one of the most beautiful places to live!

Thanks all, I think that I get by because I have learned who my XW really is and I am much better without her.

FIB, I think Kanaapali is on Mauai. You probably hiked the Na Pali Coast on the Kalalau trail to Hanakapiai Beach.

BBJ, it really does not rain that much here so I doubt that is the reason for the "saddest place to live". It could be that the price of crystal meth and black tar heroine has gone up. Actually, I read some surveys and studies that determined that liberals are less happy than conservatives. Portland is quite a liberal city and that may explain why it was surveyed as a sad place to live. Some might say it is the Californians that escaped to here only to find that relocating does not bring happiness. I personally think it is a great place to live, but I was born here and I classify myself as a conservative thinker.

Na Pali...yep....there was a wonderful hiking trail there from the Princeville Hotel with spectacular views. Maybe I should strike up a convo with STBXW. lolol. FIB

Kerry,

I'm sure she'll fight the expenses thing, but keep to your guns and she'll have no choice.

As for needing a vacation, it is warm and sunny, at least for now. In the summer, it is down-right oppressive, so I'm always wanting to get out of here.

Just having my finances back so I can travel if I want is what I'm looking forward to.

Hey RTL -

She did send and email this morning trying to guilt me and make me feel sorry for her. I am sticking to my guns as it is the only sane financial thing for me to do since my cash flow is negative.

I also believe that when you have to pay for something yourself, you appreciate it all that much more. In the long run, XW will be proud for contributing to her kids extracurricular activities. She has the money currently for it as $40 G of the division of assets was a buyout of spousal support.

Kerry,

Keep holding firm, my man. Remember, this stage is business and not personal.

I'm learning that myself w/my XW. She was bitter again today (see my latest post) which is making it very difficult for me to want to cut her any deal if it turns out she owes me money from her pension.

Unfortunately for her, her business accumen is terrible. \:\)
