Thanks everyone. The bummer about having you all further east than me is that I feel alone at night. But then I get up in the morning and see you've all chimed in!

I know, backslides are a terrible thing. I was doing so well and chucked it all in two days. Sigh.

Well, back to moving forward without him. Life is too short to waste time and energy on dead ends. Or split ends. The door is closed once again and I'm looking for the open window. I think it has a great view of the GG Bridge and Alcatraz (that may sound weird but I love taking the Alcatraz tour).

Need to pick up the house for the flaky out of town guest who may or may not be staying with me for the weekend. Then it's off to lunch with a girlfriend and probably a party tonight. Weekend plans may include skiing, shopping (for a friend, no more shopping for me!), movie, or any combination of those.

Swimming upstream is hard work but a great workout!

Update:

Unexpectedly ran into xBF at his office building today. Went to have lunch with my friend M and lo and behold, when the elevator doors opened there he was. I have been in that building probably 10 times and never run into him before. Grr. M and I were chatting so I just handed him an envelope of his mail and M and I kept chatting and walked away.

Don't know how I came across, whatever.

Feeling irritated tonight because flaky friend never called and saw her FB status as flight delayed. I'm thinking she's going to call late tonight and expect me to pick her up. Not going to happen! I have no time or patience for this type of behavior any longer.

Plus I've had a headache since yesterday. Stupid weather patterns. Ok, I think another glass of wine is in order!

Col Solare, it's a red blend from Washington made in an Italian style. (Shameless plug because I used to work in the WA wine industry!)

You sound like yourself again. Will join you and puppy in another glass of wine.

Forgot you are on the other side of the world from us all. I was always conscious of Silva's time fare- sorry.

Hmmm. Is it widely available? What is it similar to that I might know?

I'm drinking the 99, but that's because I'm trying to work through my old collection so I don't have to move it again.

Just did a quick search and the 2001-2005 vintages all outscored Opus One, Quintessa, and Dominus in Wine Spectator at a much lower price (suggested retail is $75).

Too rich for my blood. With how much I drink, I'm a $13-$14 guy, unless we're dining out or it's a special occasion.

Yeah, I understand. I'm drinking the good stuff now because I've already gone through the cheaper stuff. Plus, I didn't pay for it. ;\)

Try Columbia Crest, that's usually what I drink and recommend. They have a few price points, the Grand Estates (suggested retail $11) gets a lot of "Best Buy" ratings and has made the WS Top 100 list many times.
