Continuation from the previous thread: Letting in the Light.....

Well, the much dreaded D has come.

I was served with papers this past Friday. I came home to find the papers taped to my front door. If I do not respond within 21 days, the court considers it uncontested and lets her "name her own price", so to speak, as to what she wants. Obviously, I can't let that happen. Even though it has already happened to a certain point.

This really wasn't a surprise. She told me that she meant to carry through on this, and she did. I want to drag this out as much as I can to buy time, but she has made it extremely difficult, if not impossible. She is giving me everything. Our home, the business we purchased, everything. All she wants are her personal effects (which she already has), and her half of our retirement account. Yes, I have told my lawyer that I want him to stall as long as possible, but how do you stall with someone that is giving you EVERYTHING?

I don't see how I can fight this.
