I don't know about youse guys, but I began to realize that I was moving forward -- that I'd become a Walking Towards Person -- when I started to really enjoy hearing music again. And, because of a completely random confluence of thoughts, events, and weather, my New Moment started with a song in my head.

Now I have an iTunes playlist called "Theme Songs," which I use to motivate and mojolate from time-to-time.

SO. Let's hear your Theme Songs, just to take our minds off of the nuances of our situations and frustrations and cross-mojolations.

Rules of the Thread.

1. Title and artist. We want to know which version of the Theme Song you like / inspires you / makes you feel all moto and, more importantly, we want to give appropriate credit where credit is due.

2. A one-sentence (and not a Smiley's Person-style 10,000-word sentence, either! whistle ) explanation of why this is your theme song.

3. If you have multiple Theme Songs, as I have, at which stage of your process was A or B more important and, again in one sentence, explain why.

Now why am I bothering with this silly notion? Simple. I have found -- and I'm willing to bet many of you have, as well -- that sometimes it is so nice to just sit back and let the music wash over you. It's not just a distraction -- it can be an inspiration.

I'll lead by example and go first, in the next post.

Title and artist

A) "I Can See Clearly Now," Jimmy Cliff
B) "So Sad About Us," The Jam (covering The Who)
C) "Ripple," Grateful Dead
D) "Casual Conversations," Supertramp
E) "Consider Me Gone," Sting [most recent addition]

Why this is your theme song

A) The theme song that made it happen for me -- the rain was gone (literally), and when that happened (in Big Midwestern City) I could suddenly see the road ahead.

B) I like The Jam's version because to my ears it does a better job than The Who's original version of capturing the resignation in the lyrics, and it was important for me to feel resigned to my sitch in order to move forward.

C) Quiet, reflection, "that path is for your steps alone" -- almost Buddhist in the sense of going with the flow (see B).

D) A brave song that essentially says "I'm done" with all this nonsense -- it's boring now, so I'll move ahead on my own.

E) "Consider me gone" -- hey WAW, you want to leave, that's okay, but don't look back because you won't see me standing there.

At which stage of your process was A or B more important.

"So Sad About Us" -- the start, because it was lamenting the loss

"I Can See Clearly Now" -- the start of the end, because it's all about Fresh Eyes and Seeing Anew

"Consider Me Gone" -- today, tomorrow, and always (?), because it says I am on a Mission For Me -- full stop.

right now it's just one for me...

If you're going through Hell/Rodney Atkins

Well you know those times
When you feel like there's a sign there on your back
Says I don't mind if ya kick me
Seems like everybody has
Things go from bad to worse
You'd think they can't get worse than that
And then they do

You step off the straight and narrow
And you don't know where you are
Use the needle of your compass
To sew up your broken heart
Ask directions from a genie
In a bottle of Jim Beam
And she lies to you
That's when you learn the truth

If you're going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared, don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Well I been deep down in that darkness
I been down to my last match
Felt a hundred different demons
Breathing fire down my back
And I knew that if I stumbled
I'd fall right into the trap that they were laying, yeah

But the good news
Is there's angels everywhere out on the street
Holding out a hand to pull you back up on your feet
The one's that you've been dragginig for so long
You're on your knees
You maight as well be praying
Guess what I'm saying

If your going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, If you're going through hell
Keep on moving, face that fire
Walk right through it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

It just fits what I've been trying to do don't dwell just keep moving forward.

Lenny Kravitz - Bring it On

You have to crank up to 11!
Helped me in the "I can handle it" phase, early seperation.

I'm gonna walk by faith
Gonna raise my sword
I'm gonna fight my battle
I'm gonna praise my Lord

It's getting heavy
But I'm ready
To take on this world and rock steady
So come on, bring it on

I'm gonna face my demons
Gonna tear them down
I'm gonna keep on moving
Gonna make my sound

It's getting heavy
But I'm ready
To take on this world and rock steady
So come on, bring it on

Bring it on
Oh bring it on
Bring it on
Oh bring it on

Bring it on
Oh bring it on
Bring it on
Oh bring it on...

I have another one by a band called The Codetalkers that I have to get the lyrics to called "Saved by the Same Thing" great tune, interesting lyrics. I'll post it later.

I'm still in the first few weeks here, and trying to stay detached, so here's what I've got on my playlist:

A) "But, Honestly" - The Foo Fighters
B) "One" - U2 (but I like the Mary J. Blige version because there's a lot more emotion)
C) "So What" - Pink
D) "Pork and Beans" - Weezer

A) This song really seems to hit home - starts slow and acoustic, singing about someone who is not acting like they should... The volume and drums escalate as he sings "And tonight I thank the stars/as I count my lucky scars/for everything you've given me/and all the words I gave to you/something borrowed, something blue/if you want them back I give it to you" and then he's shouting at the end "I don't want one thing that I gave to you"

Helped me to detach - Fine, you don't want me? Take it all back. I don't want it.

B) One love - we get to share it - it leaves you if you don't care for it... You act like you never had love, and you want me to go without...

C) Because I'm even more a rock star than I was when we were together smile. "I'm going to show you tonight, I'm alright, I'm just fine, and you're a tool!"

D) I'ma do the things that I wanna do, I ain't got a thing to prove to you... I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like, I'm finally dandy with the me inside! One look in the mirror, and I'm tickled pink...

thanks sp. i'm sure my kids need to be late today so I can do my project here... wink

1. Devendra Banhart- Feel Just Like a Child (plays in my head when H is around)

Well I feel just like a child
Yeah I feel just like a child
Well I feel just like a child
Well I feel just like a child
From my womb to my tomb
I guess I'll always be a child
Well some people try and treat me like a man
Yeah some people try and treat me like a man
Weel I guess they just don't understand
Well some people try and treat me like a man
They think I know [censored]
But that's just it
I'm a child
Weel I need you to tell me what to wear
Yeah I need you to help me comb my hair
Yeah I need you to come and tie my shoes
Yeah I need you to come and keep me amused
From my cave to my grave
I guess I'll always be a child
Well I need you to help me reach the door
And I need you to walk me to the store
And I need you to please explain the war
And I need you to heal me when I'm sore
You can tell by my smile
That I'm a child
And I need you to sit me on your lap
And I need you to make me take my nap
Could you first pull out a book and
Read me some of that
Cause I need you to make me take my nap
And I need you to recognize my friends
Cause they're there even though
You don't see them
They got their own chair, plate, and a seat
You know I won't touch my food
Unless they eat
From the roof to the floor
I crawl around some more
I'm a child
And I need you to help me blow my nose
And I need you to help me count my toes
And I need you to help me put on my clothes
And I need you to hide it when it shows
From be my daddy's sperm
To being packed in an urn
I'm a child
And when I steal you gotta
Slap me til I cry
Don't you stop til the tears run dry
See I was born thinking under the sky
I didn't belong to a couple of old wise guys
From sucking on my mama's breast
To when they lay my soul to rest
I'm a child
Well I guess I'm always be

2. Radiohead- Creep (how I've felt; I've indulged in listening to this in my less mojolific moments)

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so f*cking special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice when I'm not around
You're so f*cking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell I'm doing here?
I don't belong here

She's running out the door
She's running out
She runs runs runs

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so [censored] special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here

3. The Guess Who-American Woman (that intro makes me feel mojolific and accepting of H leaving)

American Woman, stay away from me
American Woman, mama let me be
Don't come a hangin' around my door
I don't wanna see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you
Now Woman, I said stay away
American Woman, listen what I say-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay

American Woman, get away from me
American Woman, mama let me be
Don't come a knockin' around my door
Don't wanna see your shadow no more
Coloured lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now Woman, I said get away
American Woman, listen what I say-ay-ay-ay

American Woman, said get away
American Woman, listen what I say
Don't come a hangin' around my door
Don't wanna see your face no more
I don't need your war machines
I don't need your ghetto scenes
Coloured lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now Woman, get away from me
American Woman, mama let me be

Go, gotta get away, gotta get away now go, go, go
I'm gonna leave you woman
Gonna leave you woman
Bye-bye Bye-bye Bye-bye Bye-bye
You're no good for me
I'm no good for you
Gonna look you right in the eye
Tell you what I'm gonna do
You know I'm gonna leave
You know I'm gonna go
You know I'm gonna leave
You know I'm gonna go-o, woman
I'm gonna leave you woman
Goodbye American Woman
Goodbye American chick

4. U2- One (cheesy but spot on)

Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you now
You got someone to blame
You say...

One love
One life
When it's one need
In the night
One love
We get to share it
Leaves you baby if you
Don't care for it

Did I disappoint you
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
Well it's...

Too late
Tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We're one, but we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other
One...

Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much
More than a lot
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got
We're one
But we're not the same
Well we
Hurt each other
Then we do it again
You say
Love is a temple
Love a higher law
Love is a temple
Love the higher law
You ask me to enter
But then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what you got
When all you got is hurt

One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life
But we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

One...life

One

5. Stop That Train- Peter Tosh (sometimes it is about H and once in a while I'm hearing it from my POV)

Stop that train I'm leaving
Stop that train I'm leaving
Stop that train I'm leaving
It won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong
I said it won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong

All my good life I've been a lonely man
Teaching the people who don't overstan'
And even though I've tried my bes'
I still don't find no happiness

Stop that train I'm leaving
Stop that train I'm leaving
Stop that train I'm leaving
It won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong
Said it won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong

Some goin' east
Some goin' west
Some step aside to try their best
Some livin' big
But the most livin' small
They just can't even find
No food at all

Stop that train I'm leaving
Stop that train I'm leaving
Stop that train I'm leaving
It won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong
Said it won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong

Stop that train I'm leaving...

6. Beck- Loser (fun to blast it and think of H)

In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey
Butane in my veins and Im out to cut the junkie
With the plastic eyeballs, spray-paint the vegetables
Dog food stalls with the beefcake pantyhose
Kill the headlights and put it in neutral
Stock car flamin with a loser and the cruise control
Babys in reno with the vitamin d
Got a couple of couches, sleep on the love-seat
Someone came in sayin Im insane to complain
About a shotgun wedding and a stain on my shirt
Dont believe everything that you breathe
You get a parking violation and a maggot on your sleeve
So shave your face with some mace in the dark
Savin all your food stamps and burnin down the trailer park

Yo. cut it.

Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?

Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?

Forces of evil on a bozo nightmare
Ban all the music with a phony gas chamber
cuz ones got a weasel and the others got a flag
Ones on the pole, shove the other in a bag
With the rerun shows and the cocaine nose-job
The daytime crap of the folksinger slob
He hung himself with a guitar string
A slab of turkey-neck and its hangin from a pigeon wing
You cant write if you cant relate
Trade the cash for the beef for the body for the hate
And my time is a piece of wax fallin on a termite
Thats chokin on the splinters

Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?
(get crazy with the cheese whiz)
Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?
(drive-by body-pierce)
(yo bring it on down)
Soooooooyy....

(Im a driver, Im a winner; things are gonna change I can feel it)

Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?
(I cant believe you)
Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?
Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?
(schprechen sie deutches, baby)
Soy un perdedor
Im a loser baby, so why dont you kill me?
(know what Im sayin? )

7. Bonnie Rait (yep, that's right)- I Can't Make you Love Me (this is the mother-load of pain...just cry it out)

Turn down the lights, turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me, tell me no lies
Just hold me close, dont patronize - dont patronize me

Chorus: cause I cant make you love me if you dont
You cant make your heart feel something it wont
Here in the dark, in these lonely hours
I will lay down my heart and Ill feel the power
But you wont, no you wont
cause I cant make you love me, if you dont

Ill close my eyes, then I wont see
The love you dont feel when youre holding me
[Ouch, that hurts]
Morning will come and Ill do whats right
Just give me till then to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight
Chorus: cause I cant make you love me if you dont
You cant make your heart feel something it wont
Here in the dark, in these lonely hours
I will lay down my heart and Ill feel the power
But you wont, no you wont
cause I cant make you love me, if you dont

8. Carole King- It's Too Late (when you want to imbibe and take a few extra sleeping pills; I'm not pointing at anyone)

Stayed in bed all morning just to pass the time
There's something wrong here
There can be no denying
One of us is changing
Or maybe we've just stopped trying

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

It used to be so easy living here with you
You were light and breezy
And I knew just what to do
Now you look so unhappy
And I feel like a fool

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died
and I can't hide it
And I just can't fake it

There'll be good times again for me and you
But we just can't stay together
Don't you feel it too
Still I'm glad for what we had
And how I once loved you

But it's too late baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

Don't you know that I...
I just can't fake it
Oh it's too late my baby
Too late my baby
You know
It's too late my baby

And, piece de resistance , when the mojo gets flowing-

9. Gloria Gaynor - I will Survive (oh ya, sing it with me!)

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on
and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as i know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
Now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

I have one as well that I listen to on full blast sometimes 20 times a day...It keeps me going even in the darkest of hours...

Tim McGraw - Let It Go

I致e been caught sideways out here on the crossroads
Trying to buy back the pieces I lost of my soul
It痴 hard when the devil won稚 get off your back
It痴 like carrying around the past in a hundred pound sack

{Chorus}
Today I知 gonna keep on walking
I知 gonna hold my head up high
I知 gonna leave it all behind
Today I知 gonna stand out in the rain
Let it wash it all away Yeah wash it all away
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah

Skeletons and Ghosts are hiding in the shadows
Threatening me with all the things that they know
Choices and mistakes, they all know my name
But I知 through holding in and holding onto all that pain

Today I知 gonna keep on walking
I知 gonna hold my head up high
Got No more tears to cry
Today I知 gonna stand out in the rain
Let it wash it all away Yeah wash it all away
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah

And I know I know I know I know I致e been forgiven
I know I know I know I知 gonna start living
Today I知 gonna keep on walking
I知 gonna hold my head up high
I知 gonna leave it all behind
Today I知 gonna stand out in the rain
Let it wash it all away Yeah wash it all away
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah
I知 gonna let it go Oh yeah
Oh yeah

SP, you are a man after my own heart (((ahem))) -- so to speak. I LOVE the thread idea!!

For me, music is huge, and plays a central role in my moods. If I'm down, I tend to want to play sad songs that will make me MORE down, let myself wallow for awhile in my melancholy, before playing some upbeat stuff to lift me out of it. Many songs were a part of my marital journey, and I wrote a bunch myself (some of which I've posted). But here are a few:

1. "Something Beautiful" -- Newsboys. A song of hope which celebrates in the joyful shout of "THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ME!".

It's a voice that whispers my name
It's a kiss without any shame
Something beautiful(Yeah Yeah)
Like a song that stirs in my head
Singing love will take us where
Somethings beautiful

2. "Trapped" -- written by Jimmy Cliff but as performed live by Bruce Springsteen.
Speaks to the hurt and resentment of a SSM, and of feeling trapped inside the marriage, but also is hopeful (and even defiant) in its line of

"... but I'll teach my eyes to see, beyond these walls in front of me /
and someday I'll walk outta here again . . . "

3. "They Rage On" -- a song of adultery by Dan Seals. Not sure why I like to listen to it, as it's a song that somewhat glamorizes infidelity, other than it's a great song and maybe I like to torture myself. cool

On the same dark night two more people meet
In a rented room on a cross town street
And she's lost her youth and he's lost his dreams
But for a while they feel like they used to feel

4. "Does Anybody Hear Her?" -- Casting Crowns.
A haunting song about a wayward woman, and which condemns those who ignore her hurt in their own self-righteousness. It just reminded me so much of my own wife, and her struggles.

She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

5. "All These Years" -- Sawyer Brown.
Speaks from both the cheating spouse and the betrayed spouse's perspectives, and I like how they both face the abyss and turn away from it, realizing how much they stand to lose:

She likes adventure with security
And more than one man can provide
She planned adventure feeling sure that he
Would not be home 'till after five
He turned on the lights and turned them off again
And said the one thing he could say

All these years
Where have I been
Well I've been down the rode to work and home again
And I'm still here
Untill I'm gone
Don't you rub it in too hard that I've been wrong
All these years

She said, "You're not the man you used to be"
He said, "Neither is this guy"
She said, "There's some things you refuse to see
But I guess sometimes so do I"
She made no excuse why she was lying there
She said the one thing she could say

All these years
What have I done
I made your supper and your daughter and your son
Still I'm here
And still confused
But I can finally see how much I stand to lose
All these years

I'm still here
And so confused
But I can finally see how much I stand to lose
All these years

I got a million more, but that's a start!

In chronological order -

Love Bites - Def Leppard
When you make love, do you look in the mirror?
Who do you think of, does he look like me?
Do you tell lies and say that it's forever?
Do you think twice, or just touch 'n' see?
Oooh babe
When you're alone, do you let go?
Are you wild 'n' willin' or is it just for show?
Ooh c'mon
I don't wanna touch you too much baby
Cause making love to you might drive me crazy
I know you think that love is the way you make it
So I don't wanna be there when you decide to break it
No
Love bites, love bleeds
It's bringin' me to my knees
Love leaves, love dies
It's no surprise
Love begs, love pleads
It's what I need
When I'm with you, are you somewhere else?
Am I gettin' thru or do you please yourself?
When you wake up, will you walk out?
It can't be love if you throw it about
I don't wanna touch you too much baby
'Cause making love to you might drive me crazy
Love bites, love bleeds
It's bringin' me to my knees
Love leaves, love dies
It's no surprise
Love begs, love pleads
It's what I need
I don't wanna touch you too much baby
'Cos making love to you might drive me crazy
I know you think that love is the way you make it
So I don't wanna be there when you decide to break it
No
Love bites, love bleeds
It's bringin' me to my knees
Love leaves, love dies
Love bites, love bleeds
It's bringin' me to my knees
Love leaves, love dies
It's no surprise
Love begs, love pleads
It's what I need

Homewrecker - Gretchen Wilson
Well you're a real hot cookie with a new hairdo
Your high heel boots and your credit card
Long legs and a mini skirt
Yeah you know what works and you work it hard
You smile like such a lady innocent and sweet
You drive the men folk crazy,
But any girl can see
You're just a

Homewrecker
I know what you're doin'
You think you're gonna ruin what I got, But you're not
Yeah you little go getter
I'll teach you a lesson
If you get to messin' with my man
You don't stand a chance
No, you're just a homewrecker

I'm sure you waited for a long, long time
To find a man like mine
But honey you're too late
So before you go and make your move
Maybe me and you should get a few things straight
There's two ways we can do this
I'll let you decide
You can take it somewhere else or we can take it outside you little

Now honey I'm a Christian, But if you keep it up
I'm gonna go to kickin' your pretty little butt
Is that clear enough yeah, you little

All I Want Is Everything - Def Leppard

I don't know how to leave you
And I don't know how to stay
I've got things that I must tell you
That I don't know how to say

The man behind these empty words
Is crying out in shame
Holding on to this sinking ship
When nothing else remains

All I want is everything
Am I asking too much?
All I want is everything
Like the feel of your touch
But all I have are yesterdays
Tomorrow never comes

It's hard to hold your head up
When you're kneeling down to pray
And the talking dooesn't come easy now
When the words get in the way
And if you could see what's going on
Behind these private eyes
The truth would look so easy now
But I'm running out of lies

You think the shadow of doubt
Is hangin' over my head
It's just an angel whose wings hide the sun
And it's myself I betray
I can not wish this away
Took my chance now the damage is done

All I want is everything
Am I asking too much?
All I want is everything
Like the feel, the feel of your touch
When all I have are yesterdays
Tomorrow never comes

Ooh, oooh
Ooh, oooh

What Hurts the Most - Rascal Flatts

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let ?em out

I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while even though
Goin' on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm okay
But that's not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And havin' so much to say
And watchin' you walk away

And never knowin'
What could've been
And not seein' that lovin' you
Is what I was tryin' to do

It's hard to deal with the pain of losin' you everywhere I go
But I'm doin' it
It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I'm alone
Still harder gettin' up, gettin' dressed, livin' with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade, give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And havin' so much to say
(Much to say)
And watchin' you walk away

And never knowin'
What could've been
And not seein' that lovin' you
Is what I was tryin' to do, oh
Oh yeah

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And havin' so much to say
(To say)
And watchin' you walk away

And never knowin'
What could've been
And not seein' that lovin' you
Is what I was tryin' to do

Not seein' that lovin' you
That's what I was trying to do, ooo

The Fray - You Found Me Lyrics

I found god
On the corner of first and Amistad
Where the west was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette
I Said where you been, he said ask anything
Where were you?
When everything was falling apart
All my days were spent by the telephone
It never rang
And all I needed was a call
That never came
To the corner of first and Amistad
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why壇 you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me
In the end everyone ends up alone
Losing her, the only one who痴 ever known
Who I am, who I知 not, who I want to be
No way to know how long she will be next to me
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why壇 you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me
Early morning, City breaks
I致e been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never send me no letters
You got some kind of nerve, taking all I want
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Where were you where were you
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why壇 you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me
Why壇 you have to wait?
To find me, to find me

One - U2

Is it getting better?
Or do you feel the same?
Will it make it easier on you now?
You got someone to blame

You say, one love, one life
When it's one need in the night
One love, we get to share it
Leaves you baby if you don't care for it

Did I disappoint you?
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without

Well it's too late tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We're one but we're not the same
We get to carry each other, carry each other
One!

Have you come here for forgiveness?
Have you come to raise the dead?
Have you come here to play Jesus?
To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much? More than a lot
You gave me nothin' now it's all I got
We're one but we're not the same
Well we hurt each other then we do it again

You say love is a temple, love a higher law
Love is a temple, love the higher law
You ask me to enter but then you make me crawl
And I can't be holdin' on to what you got
When all you got is hurt

One love, one blood
One life, you got to do what you should
One life, with each other
Sisters, brothers

One life but we're not the same
We get to carry each other, carry each other
One
One
