Looks like the mods don't understand the difference between an ad and an article. Sad.

My sentiments exaclty as I moderate a site myself and saw nothing wrong with linking an ARTICLE not promoting a sale? crazy

To the Mods (Tia),

You censured a link I posted, claiming it was advertising. It wasn't. It was a link to an article in the UK's Daily Mail newspaper. While it's true that many newspaper websites have sidebar advertising in order to offset costs, it doesn't turn all their content into advertising.

The article I posted was written by a woman who filed for divorce 7 years ago. She had since come to realize that divorce seemed like an easy fix but it wasn't, that she'd never taken a full account of how much the split would mean, and that she could never truly move past it.

I posted it because, for people like me who are recently divorced, it seemed to offer support through its sub-text of saying, "Hey, you aren't being a doormat by trying to save your marriage." It offered the viewpoint of the WAW 7 years out, a WAW who had finally come to recognize the gravity of the choice she'd made.

It saddens me that the link to this article was censured - primarily because I thought it was a good article but, perhaps more importantly, by labeling it as advertising it's clear you didn't bother to examine the link before censuring it. If we are unable to post links to articles from the world's trusted newspaper websites, then does that mean we're limited to posting only goofy youtube links?

I'd like to see a mod respond, but based on past history, I'm skeptical.

I posted somewhere else on a different thread how to find the article through google and I did not get censored. So even though some perfectly helpful links get nuked, giving google search text is ok.

Youtube has its place...like watching videos of boulders being rolled off cliffs from high places.

How was black rock desert this year?

Any ladies interested in leopard disco man?

the black rock desert was windy this year, but also filled with attentive, beautiful women. It's nice when you discover that you haven't forgotten how some things work ...

better leave it there!

The leopard suit sounds like it was a great investment.
