I'd leave off the 'you have 24 hours' bit. Just follow through. Plenty of time after that if he pulls his crap together and actually gets help.

They are right...SEX ADDICT....cake eater.....all around NOT good H material without a lot of therapy.

Yeah I was asking my attorney yesterday about the whole process once I file the petition.

He said that in our state the courts designed the process with the goal of getting couples back together and NOT divorcing.

So I can pretty much call "time out" at any point along the way until the proverbial ink dries on the final decree months from now.

Jumping in with both feet, hope the water isn't too cold!

That's the same as GA. Heck, the day we went to my L and signed all of the papers we still could have pulled it until the judge put the official seal on it. That took about 2 weeks after we signed together. There's always a possibility, but you know Dan and his issues and what you can tolerate.

Be strong BBJ! LOVE YOU SIS!!

I dont think I would give him a heads up. Just hand serve him the papers and tell him there may still be a chance he can stop the D from going all the way through. If he wants to be married to you, he will be begging and moving mountains to show his love.

Wow, I kind of want to throw up now.

I went in to sign the "Petition of Dissolution".

Didn't even meet with my attorney. He left the form with the lady at the front desk.

It took about 7 seconds for me to sign my name and start the process of dissolving my marriage..... frown

I know I needed to do it. But my gut seems to disagree, it is feeling like I am on the free fall part of a theme park ride.

But hey, there's good news...

My MIL called me today over lunch. So excited. Couldn't wait to tell me that she has been having heart-to-hearts with her son the past few days.

And last night, from Canada, he told her that he wants his family back. He doesn't want to live without us. He wants to fix up his house (it is bigger) and have us all move in there! Yippee! She couldn't wait to call and tell me the good news, that he has decided he wants me. smirk

Too bad it is still more words.....
