She texted me this morning that she did file for divorce yesterday, and she doesn't know when I will be served.
I have an appointment with a lawyer next Tuesday morning.

I'm hurting.

Antlers,

Have not followed your complete thread, but have you at least been to a L for consultation? If not, I would do that ASAP, and then with his advice, decide if you need them on retainer based on knowing that the papers are on the way?

I consulted with one back in Feb. when she left, and I'll hire her on Tuesday when I go in for the appointment. I know I'll need her services now that I know my wife has filed for divorce and the papers are on the way.

I'm hurting bad.

Hang tough, man, Coach knows you can handle this.

I'm in the same place as you, but focus on something positive, anything around you that is.

Accept that this will be tough, but you can make it!

It's been many months since I've felt like this. I am heartbroken and so sad...and all the other emotions are flooding in...grief, deep remorse, sorrow, guilt, etc. I'm cryin'...and it's been a long time since I've done that. I did not want this to happen, and I've done everything in my power to keep it from happening.

Feel all of it, don't hold it in. It's normal, healthy and expected. Your fight for your marriage isn't over, your growth isn't finished, your kids still love you and there are still new roads to ride. Strength and Honor.

When I was feeling really low, I would take my fingers and tap my heart and say, "I can handle it." You have been on a incredible journey, stay fueled up.
Cheers

I'm feelin' it, and I'm not holdin' anything in Coach. I can't help it right now. I hear ya', but it's hard to comprehend that the fight for my marriage isn't over. Sure feels like it, especially under the circumstances. I do know that my growth isn't finished. Yeah, my kids are special to me...but they are adversely affected by this mess also. I'm still ridin'...not as hard right now though.

The negative emotions that I feel, like remorse and regret and disappointment, are eating me up right now. I feel overwhelming sadness. I'll try tapping my heart and saying "I can handle it" when I feel really low. It has been a journey full of pain and regret. I'm tryin'.

Thanks McQueen. It's just overwhelming sadness right now. I can't help it. It's hitting me hard.
