Btw Barb, I bought the book Mars and Venus on a Date. Does it have a section on Filipino women? Oh, did I mention that I came across a forum where these guys were discussing their experiences with Filipino women, I had to laugh. One guy said "why do they have to play so hard to get?" and another who was giving advice said "If she was born in the P.I. you have to go slow, slow, slow. It's not like here where after a couple of dates you can nail her, just forget about that" I was looking up a word I always say to her at night, to make sure I got the meaning right and this forum was in the search. Good to see, I'm not alone. lol.

Well, things are looking up! MM is now banned from using her phone at work, texting or otherwise. Guess I won't be needing that texting plan afterall. This s@cks!

Frankly, Wii,

That is not surprising. As an employer in more than one capacity - I banned the use of cel phones. I know that the workers with Ryan still use them when they think I'm not looking and frankly - that is not what I'm paying them to do. I can't stand cel phones. Yes - I own one and on occasion it rings. I rarely give out my number but must leave it on at all times because Ryan is my son and stuff happens.

Last night I attended a meeting of a community group. My phone rang in the middle of the meeting. My daughter had been trying to call the house and when the babysitter didn't answer - she got worried (not knowing i was out at a meeting). UGH - it was embarrassing.

Anyway - cel phone use should be allowed during breaks. But what did people do before the use of cel phones? They found other ways to stay connected.

Josh works during the day. I rarely contact him unless it is an emergency. We talk after work and use the phone - not messaging. We only use text when one person is busy.

If you want to make it work - there are many ways - be creative.

I told her to tell her client's mother that she is talking to her lolo (grandfather)!

Hey, I'm gonna start texting my friend who works for the Conservative Party until he's banned from using his cell phone. This has opened a whole new world for me! I can bring down cell phones one number at a time. Maybe I should get that unlimited text plan right away.

Ok well.. I have read through a lot of this and for what it is worth I will ask 1. what is the age difference between you and 2. what is up with the visa problems. I do not like the lola business at all. That is not "cute". Take it very, and I mean very slow. Wonder

12 years difference, she's filed for her landed immigrant status she has no Visa problems that I'm aware of. Again, when she calls me lolo or kuya it's teasing, I often refer to her as "old and tired" or "evil woman". They're jokes and we both know where they come from. I'm sure if I said "don't call me that, it bothers me" she would stop. But it doesn't and it's said rarely and it actually makes me laugh which is her intent.Don't worry! She's actually quite caring, doesn't over do it but lets me know she's there.
Btw just to clarify, the texting issue was not two adolescents going crazy. We texted usually one exchange per evening, maybe ten texts each and it was when her client was watching TV,and she was with him, and a brief "goodnight" text later. It wasn't overboard. But she has to respect her employers wishes understandably. I sent her a FB message yesterday "I know it's only 3:10pm but I'm wishing you goodnight anyway. Have a great night at work."

Iwondertoo, she's the one who keeps saying "go slow", this is something we talked about the other night. She's not gonna move fast, trust me. I'm just trying to adjust to snails pace. Her culture says "go slow" and she also got burned real bad in a previous R, like myself, so slow is good.
