I know you're human and there are times when even you will get in a funk. You have done so much good here, despite dealing with your own sitch, and I don't think you realize it. You are truly a vessel of Him, and that is something you should be extremely proud of. You have been a great example, friend and GIFT to many of us here.

Yeah I can get a funk from time to time, especially this time of year. It's typically a little worse in January / February, though I try my best to beat it. I think Saturday night, it was kind of kicked off by knowing I still had some things to do for work instead of doing something fun.

Thanks especially for this. This means the world. Yes, I believe you are right and it's very exciting when I focus on what He has in store for me. When I take my eyes off it, I am susceptible to getting off track.

Thanks for this, it means a lot! Very humbling, actually. I like that vessel of Him, because it's Him - I ain't that good myself.

Thanks for that. I know you're a great one to have in my corner. It would be a total hoot if I could turn everyone loose on her who's said anything remotely close to that.
OK, just for the heck of it, I'm going to note this will be my 2000th post. Does that make me a veteran , a crazy person , or just a bunch of hot air? Or all of the above.
I had ridden the 8.6 miles this morning. Was that enough? Nooooo!! I did throw my bike in the back of the car and hit the bike trail. It didn't rain at all for oh, about the first 5 miles. It started drizzling during the ride. Every once in awhile it picked up to a light rain. I rode 9 miles up the trail and turned around. I was actually enjoying riding in the light rain. When I got back to the car, I just kept going. I rode another 4.8 miles the other way. That gave me a total of 27.4 miles for the ride and 36 miles for the day. There's no better way to cure a dreary day for me than to get out and exercise in it.
Took a nice long shower when I got home. Just felt great and I had to shake off some of the chill from being in the rain.
Made some baked ziti for dinner tonight for my S and me. We'll be able to eat off it for a couple more days this week. (DG - I'd be interested to see how similar it is to your baked mostaccioli - I'm sure yours is fancier)
My S had an open house tonight for Boy Scouts, so we had that going on. After we got home, we watched some Weird Al videos and Heywood Banks videos on YouTube for some laughs.

My usual cutoff is right around 30 degrees. It's tough to ride physically when it gets below 45 degrees. So I think I'm getting toward the end of the season for comfort and safety reasons. I am usually relegating to walking a couple of miles day at this point. My long workout is usually a 4.5 mile hike at the local nature center. I'm hoping to sprinkle in some running this winter, as much as my body will allow.
Today is another rainy day here. I had enough craziness on the bike yesterday, so I'm giving myself the day off.
I stopped by my favorite local coffee shop (with a sticker on the front door that says Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks ) this morning for a cup of coffee. Struck up a conversation with the owner, I ran into him on the bike path last week - he's big into roller blading. I'm back at the coffee shop now for round 2.
I spent the time in between back at my S's school. I smuggled in Skyline chili today and stayed for indoor recess and a movie. I know my S is absolutely thrilled to have me there at school. I take it now for as long as it lasts. I stopped and talked to one of his teachers from last year. She's noticed a positive change in my S. I just told her I am trying to establish a positive environment at home, and that seems in part at least, to be helping.
One thing I haven't mentioned too much about my W is that she had some major down periods even before the bomb. I guess when the bomb dropped was when she decided that either be married period or being married to me was the cause of those down periods - or she's not sure, but certainly willing to give D a try to see if that fixes it for her. I really makes me sad that she can't find happiness. I can say in retrospect, it was wearing me out when I was trying to help her find that happiness.
I've been having my on and off anxious moments today, but other than that I'm not doing too bad. I'm just a little anxious about her complaint about doing all the driving. She will have my S on Thanksgiving day, but she has to work Friday. I think I'm just going to set the tone when I drop him off tomorrow evening - I'll give her option of dropping him off on Thursday night or Friday morning. I think I just get a little anxious about the dispute part of it, like I'm preparing for a fight. I'm still a little appalled that she had gotten upset when I didn't want to pick my S up before she went to work on her weekend. I'm more than willing to stand up for the right thing, as long as I'm sure it's the right thing.
