great job, mac - and I would NEVER laugh. god knows i know how hard this is for each of us! (((((((( ))))))))))

that list is a killer to put together because we have to let go of how we have been and squeeze out of ourselves what we could be

and kudos to you for doing it right after the doggie trauma. how is doggie now? resting without pain i hope? and yourself - recovering from the whole thing? another hug!

so down to business, ok?

you've done the first step, but it's a bit raw, and way too general, so i'm going to help you make it more specific.

would you be comfortable taking this over to the Goals thread? it will be a lot easier for me to keep track.

1. I'd like you to state some of the goals in a positive way, rather than the negative version of it. for e.g..instead of the second reading as it does, how about "I will put my focus into maintaining a positive attitude about my future"

so when it's stated positively, each time you read it you start off with the positive thought, not get reminded of the negative one, which you then have to fight off.

2."I will forgive those that seemed determined to wreck everything". could you work on this and restate it so that a) it is positive and b) it's about your action or intent not someone else's . hint: it describes resentment within yourself. what could you do to change that?

3." hit my off-switch" - is it on otherwise? how could you refine this goal in another way so that it is about how you are consistently and steadily no matter what?

4". I will concentrate on feeling good about myself" - that's way too general. one can't feel good about oneself just like that or by saying it. one has to find out what feels bad and figure out how to change that. so i really want you to break this down. take one thing to start with, just one - and here's where it gets personal, so be brave, because everyone feels bad about personal stuff deep down until they resolve it. so for eg. self body image, or a personality trait or habit - something you would like to change about yourself. just choose one - rome wasn't built in a day. put it in an I will... sentence

NEXT

when you've reformulated those goals - and they may make a shorter list. (also before you start go to the goals thread and read how ng and i wrote out the goals and see how that format lays it out clearly. it's not for me or others to see, it's for how much more easier it will be for you to stick to pursuing them)

then write them down again with the actions that you will take for each and what you will feel when you are doing those actions.

also, mac, it's okay to just start with 1 or 2 or 3. you have quite a long list, so reformulate them so that they are simpler and more attainable in the next couple of weeks.. we all struggle terribly with getting discouraged, and this list should be about encouraging yourself and staying encouraged. a big part of setting LITTLE goals is so that while we are working on ourselves and our sitches, which can be so so deflating, this will help us to feel better when we feel we got something positive down

mac - i hope you realize that this can be a serious commitment you make to yourself - not just to write out a list, but to follow it, monitor the results and as you get results, set new goals.

sorry this got so long - but hope it helps, and see you on the goals thread

Zig. Exhausted (as much as Ashley).

I'll work on it I promise. You and more importantly myself.

Gotta get this week out of the way!

I hear a bed with a hot water bottle calling. And it's not even 9 o'clock!
I feel another few chapters of a book coming on.
I'll leave Ashley snoring with her little sister (Scappy)

Just keep an eye on the ol' girl, Mac. I think we want to make sure she is eating and drinking as well as standing up and walking within the next 12-24 hours...

Starsky - you got it bro.

Ashley is tucked up on the couch with a duvet over her back bit :-)
I have a strong feeling the tablet will have kicked in by morning.

And the "puppy" bit - was that a clue?

Cheers one and all.

Just a reference to my old username -- "Puppy Dog Tails." Now that I'm "out of the closet" around here, so to speak, I guess it's not so winkey-faced anymore, lol.

Let us know if she's up and about when those meds wear off. Is this the first time she's had an episode like this?

Hang on (before I get stuck into this book), I AM changing. Into someone who will do anything in his power FOR HIS FAMILY above and before all else. But you'll have to belong.

Boy oh boy - that's a shocker!

Puppy IT'S YOU!!!!!! So good to see y stuck around unlike me (and the W) who promised they would. And then got all tied up with the world. Sorry to one and all.

I promise once I get back into my old writing ways I WILL try to spread some pearls of wisdom. Still relearning from the past my friend.

Snoozy time coming - with biggest grin on my face grin

Oh and yes that was a shock. Ashley has never ever been like this. I have a feeling the cold weather is getting to the old girl. Spring is just round the corner! Yippee wink

Mac - now really going. Honest. Bye. Chin chin. Pip pip. Get the drift? Great wink

Morning one and all.

Update: Ashley spent a reasonable night in the lounge - on the carpet. She made it ontomy bed this morning where I left her.

On the way out the door, after shouting bye all, the w shouted H, H. I ignored her and acted if I hadn't heard her.

Then a text - needing toothpaste, cigs and pads!

Really need to send something back but what. Or even if I should as she doesn't even know if I read the text messages.

At the moment she's not part of the family frown

Advice? Guidance? Anything?

Mac
