I agree 100% with what GolfGirl is saying. It doesn't seem like you are in a place yet where you would be available to someone else - so why date them?
I waited four years before starting to date. After a 15 month R, I'm having to think about "why date?" again myself. In my experience here on DB and in my other life (ha ha) I've found it's usually us guys who think we have to get out there and prove we're men again...and often, it creates a mess. Take your time because real men want to establish meaningful and healthy R's for more reasons than just validation. Men are action creatures. Our answer to pain is to run out and soothe it. We tend to see taking time to re-gather and re-discover ourselves as some kind of failure. It's worth the effort though. Go slow
Just wanted to chime in and say that I agree with the others. Your BD was less than a year ago and while you are divorced now, I think you still need time to grieve the relationship and do an autopsy of what went wrong.
This is a great time to focus on yourself and your kids. Figure out what will make you happy in life.
You don't want to end up in another relationship before you've had a chance to work on the problems your last one had or you'll keep repeating the same mistakes.
I've realized that as long as I'd consider giving xh a chance if he wanted to work on things, I'm not fully open to someone else. And that isn't fair to them.
