Good for you to get out and do things for yourself! Even if it is a painful wax, lol. Good luck on the appointments.

Hey, I have a funny. My H went grocery shopping with my S yesterday and while they were gone, H sent me a funny pic of something he saw in the store. He hasn't done THAT in a while. But anyhoo, it was a pic of a jar of 'spotted dick'. LOL! I knew you would understand what this was, and now I do since I had to go look it up! But H thought it was funny enough to send me a pic of it. The name of that would have a completely different meaning here in the US! LOL

The name could mean two things over here, lol. What do you mean a jor of spotted dick? I've never seen it in a jar before, unless a jar is what we would call a tin smile
That's nice that H chose to send you a funny pic smile My H used to do things like this since we've been apart but not anymore!
Can you post it up on FB? I'd like to see it smile

Well it looked like a jar from what I could tell. Could be a tin wink Sure, I'll try to do that today.

That's what I thought too, he used to do things like that for me too, but hasn't in awhile. I'll take it as a positive sign.

You can get that in the grocery store there. Up here, you can pretty well only find that in the British specialty stores - and they usually cost twice what they would in the UK.

It's been a while since we had the convo - we could always repeat it if we're really bored LOL

It does seem to be the most unfortunate name for something that's probably perfectly tasty. On the other hand, there's fruit cake. wink

I've seen a lot of cans of that stuff, and I don't think I've ever seen one actually opened and consumed! laugh

We always had fruit cake in our house at Christmas. My mom used to make her own, but I usually pick up the Marks & Spencers variety - too much effort to make it myself. Probably won't spend the money this year - H won't be around to eat it and I'd hate to think how much weight I'd put on if I had one to myself wink .

Of course saying that, I've had some pretty awful fruit cake in my time as well. And I know a few people say its an acquired taste.
