Thankfully we're on the same page about the birthday aside from the selfish comment. She's having a sh!t day. I'll grab her some lunch but aside from that I guess I'll just have to roll with the punches today.

Somedays that is all you can do.

On a side note....I don't think email/text/written notes is a good manner of communication with her....Just saying.

I don't either but it's the way that works best for her and has given me the most information so far. Basically, it works better than all other forms. I talk to her face-to-face for the really big things though.

My wife just called about something and she asked if I had everything for dinner. It's my son's choice tonight as he's been well behaved lately. My wife has had a lousy day so I was going to ask my son if he'd be prepared to postpone his dinner so we can go out instead. My wife jumped at that idea. Now to wait for my son to come home.

Yeah we enjoyed ourselves. We received a portfolio of what real estate is available in our area so my wife and I were drawing diagrams of our house on it while waiting for dinner and then we watched a movie with my parents at home while we discussed more renovation ideas.

I finished DB today. I'm looking forward to cracking into DR tomorrow. I ordered Way of the Superior Man today too. I'm definitely getting lots of mixed messages from my wife as she's gone from telling me she's reliving things this morning to telling me to stop agreeing with everything and fight to telling me she was looking forward to going out tomorrow night because she didn't have to come home to talking about house renovations over dinner with the family. She's all over the shop but I don't blame her as I did hurt her badly. I guess the positive is that she's feeling something but it's hard deciphering what action by me is appropriate at what time.

My wife skips town tomorrow night and my kids head off to see grandparents as well so it's just me and my parents for about 24-30 hours. I'm looking forward to it even though I won't be doing anything exciting. I want to try something new for dinner so I'll scope out some recipes tomorrow assuming my poor bored mum doesn't jump in first :p

B,

Remember that you are the husband. You need to be consistent in your actions and emotions. This will instill more and more trust for you from the wife. She depends on you to be that consistent rock in the storm of life. She will flap around at times....but if she knows you are there for her, then things will be good.

So you are free for 24 hours.....what a great opportunity to do something exciting....just saying.

I know. I should fly to Sydney! Unfortunately it's going to be a night at home for me. That's why I want to make something different for dinner. I don't really have the opportunity to do something exciting so I'll improvise by doing something different at home.

B,

Fly to Syndey....I like your humor. I was more thinking along the lines of catching a football game, a good hike, or even just a movie. Be B independent man for a moment....it doesn't need to be a grand gesture. Just something that day to day daddy life doesn't let happen....Now cooking with mom is fun, but if we could push just a bit farther than the excitement of a new recipe (I LOVE to cook....so I know the excitement of a new recipe LOL)....maybe make a desert too.
