Who says you have to be wrong to say you're sorry.
Keeping your eyes on the bigger marital picture is important.
Swallow your pride.
Take the marital high road.

Many couples tell me that their previous therapists never even asked them about their sexual relationships!
How in the world can you do marital therapy and not ask couples about sex?
Sex is an important part of marriage.
To ignore it is to ignore the elephant in the room!

Talk about your sexual relationship!

Sometimes the best you can do is not make things worse.
Preventing things from spiraling out of control is a much bigger deal than most people realize.

From the twitter feed.

When love slips through your fingers, it's natural to cling.

Don't.

It only makes things worse.
Focus on yourself.
Back off a bit.
It helps

As counter-intuitive as it may seem,
sometimes you have to let go
in order to keep something or
someone who is precious to you.
Do you know what I mean?

My quote in "O" Magazine about the importance of being concrete about your needs with your spouse.

"When a woman client says,
'I don't want to have sex,
I want to make love,'
I say,
'What exactly are you asking for?
Eye contact?
Foreplay?
Being told, " I love you"?
So often when couples talk to each other,
they're not using behavioral terms- they're saying things like
"I want more excitement.' but
each person has a very idiosyncratic understanding of what those words mean,
so you have to spell out to your partner what you need and want."

Couples argue about who's right or who's wrong,
when they're both right.
Acknowledging the validity of your partner's point of view helps.

The vast majority of affairs that happen occur with co-workers.
Keep your boundaries at work!!!!
