Yeah, I've been thinking hard about how to handle things when she gets back about 3 hours from now.

I think it's important to, like you said , Peter, to keep up the PMA and not get drawn in too quickly. That smacks of manipulation but really, this is a great opportunity to shift the initiative back to me. Her current mindset seems to be one of pursuit (of me), but I need to keep the momentum going. I know she's afraid that I'm reaching the end of my rope. Don't want her to keep thinking she can push indefinitely and have me just bounce back.

She's back in town..good frame of mind. she had a great time with her friends and I think the space did us both good.

She was all apologetic for her meltdown the other day; it's like she just goes blind with panic. She apologized again for all the cruel things she says to me in those states. All well and good, but it won't stop her the next time.

I'm re-reading Sandi's detachment thread. Time to go back to the basics. Some of it apparently didn't stick the first time.

One year since BD, today. She's still here. I'm still here.

Last night she was telling me how she finally felt like she was getting some tractions, finding herself again; starting to feel some glimmerings of happiness.

If that's the case, I'm happy for her. We won't succeed unless she gets her head back on straight.

Whether this means diddly-squat for the outcome of our M, remains to be seen.

NH, validate, this getting it together is something you want to encourage isn't it?

Even if it's just for co parenting.

You can validate and still let go of the rope.

Absolutely I validated that V...

Sanity and happiness are a long time coming, for both of us. I'll encourage little glimmers when I can.

Validating, but still reserving judgment on what it means. Been at this too long to jump for joy every time she starts to sound healthy.

Been away for a while but quick update

Things have been overall good. We're taking a break from MC for four weeks to get through some life things (beginning of school is always crazy). I didn't feel like it was helping much anyway. She's got to work on herself primarily for our R to get better.

Her overall demeanor has improved a lot over the last couple of week. She is noticeably happier and more positive. It seems that IC may be paying off. She says she wants to continue to work on our M. Still no ML yet; that's a major point of anxiety for her.

I had my own deadline of the 1st of September to see if I still felt that things were salvageable. Problems remain, but the overall sitch has improved enough for me to give it a few more months before reevaluating.

Miles to go regardless. I'm continuing to GAL and work on my own goals. We'll see what the near future brings.

Continuing to send positive thoughts and support your way. You have to do what is best for you, so take care of you and keep on GAL. wink
